Passion. Physics. Purpose.
Hi. I am Prof. Varun, and thanks for showing interest in knowing me more. I grew up in India, ofcourse which provides with a very competitive atmosphere since schooling. With a deep fascination for how the world works, I was naturally inspired to learn more Physics. I completed my graduation in Mechanical Engineering at a prestegious college in India, National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat. Later, I completed Masters in Thermal Engineering from PEC, Chandigarh, which the famous for an Indian-American Astronaut, Kalpana Chawla. Yes, she have been one the famous alumni's from my college. My academic journey opened doors to advanced fields like fluid mechanics, thermal systems, and energy sciences, and it has been indeed a very fascinating journey for me.
I began my career as an Assistant Professor at LP Univeristy, India, teaching Mechanical, Fluid Dynamics, Thermal Engineering, and last but not the least, Gas Dynamics (literary, the Rocket Science) to aspiring engineers. I taught post graduate students too, the subjects like Statistical Thermodynamics, Matlab etc. It had been quite a thrilling affair throughout, though, I decided to quite the job and start another venture of my own.
In 2016, I founded Phi Classes, where I dedicated myself to teaching Physics for NEET and JEE aspirants. My students produced splendid results there. To name a few, in NEET, my students scored a proud 99.8 percentile, 99.3 percentile, as best scores. In JEE, one of my student even scored 100 percentile in the country, thereby securing the first rank in physics all over the country, competing 1.4 million aspirants.
Over time, my reach expanded beyond classrooms. With a global vision to make quality education accessible across financial and geographical barriers, I launched a global initiative "Education for All" through my YouTube channel "IB Physics by Prof. Varun" — today recognized as the world’s largest IB Physics resource, supporting thousands of students in over 150+ countries, boosting for 14000+ subscribers, 40000+ watch hours, garnering more than 1.8 million views in just two years, making this youtube, the fastest growing youtube channel in the field of IB Physics.
My journey has been about more than teaching equations; it’s about empowering students, supporting teachers, and helping schools embrace structured, high-quality learning for the future.
